Prologue

State Revenue Act 2017, The Date of Authentication and Publication of the Act is 2017.12.27(9 April 1961).

It was enacted so the national unity forged by His Majesty King Prithvi Narayan Shah Dev should be further strengthened by making timely provisions in relation to states and principalities of kings in order to maintain cordial relations between the people of different classes, occupations, or regions.

Therefore, in accordance with Article 93 of the Nepalese Constitution, His Majesty the King has made this Act.

Provisions and Features

Termination of state principalities:

Section 2 states that no one shall have the authority to act in the capacity of any such state principality.

State land revenue to be converted into government land Revenue:

Section 5 states that the land revenue offices of the states that were abolished as a result of this Act are hereby changed into the land revenue offices of the Government of Nepal, and any documents pertaining to that state that are kept in those revenue offices will be regarded as belonging to Government of Nepal.

Regardless of any provisions in this Act, where any state principalities maintained in accordance with the then-applicable laws have performed or caused to be devotion was practiced at all Devalayas, shrines, and temples until the final day of Chaitra in the year 2064 (2007), with the exception of the operation of such has been given a separate source of funding Devalaya, temples, shrines, and the Guthi Sansthan Trust Corporation formed in accordance with the applicable law shall provide for obtaining the funds needed to operate the worshiping trust the State Trust’s earnings as usual, in accordance with the directive issued by, the government of NepalĀ  conducted at places like temples, Devalaya, and shrines for the sake of the worshipping.

State Revenue Act has outlined the necessity for maintaining worshipping trust and highlighted the importance of making cordial relations with the people of multiple class and religions.
