Dharma Gupta has been mentioned as the Third King of the Gopal Dynasty in the Gopal Raja Bansawali. He has been attributed the reign of 91 years in the text.

However, Bhasa Bansawali and the Genologies of Daniel Wright and William Kirkpatrick significantly differ on Dharma Gupta.
